PG Pharmacist Prescribing
Tess has a wealth of knowledge and works collaboratively with our clinical team to support our patients.
Tess is able to see adult patients for all routine medication reviews, repeat prescriptions, help to optimise your current medications, and any medication related concerns that patients may have with their medicines.
Her specialist area for prescribing is Type 2 Diabetes and primary prevention of cardiovascular disease,
Tess works four days a week by appointment.
If you have ever had any questions about how your medicines work then she is the person to see.
Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs)
HIPs (Health Improvement Practitioners) are registered health professionals who work alongside GP’s and nurses, helping out when any problems with living and stress are having an impact on our hauora (health and well-being).
The HIP can practically help with:
• Relationship issues
• Stress & anxiety
• Management of long-term conditions
• Low mood
• Chronic pain challenges
• Sleep issues/Fatigue & tiredness
• Lifestyle changes/feeling stuck
• Child/youth behavioral issues
• Reducing/quitting smoking
• Any other life or health problem
Anyone of any age can see the HIP & sessions are FREE

Get a Repeat Prescription
You may be able to request repeat prescriptions without an appointment if your doctor feels it is appropriate. The general rule for most routine medications is you will need to visit your doctor or our prescribing clinical pharmacist every six months.
Requests received are completed in 2 business days. Additional fees are incurred for any urgent requests.
Be aware, an appointment may be required so plan well ahead of when you need your medications.
There is a charge for repeat prescriptions with the exception of children under 14yrs of age.

Booking an Appointment
To book your immigration medical appointment, please email admin@devonmedical.co.nz
If you are unsure about what visa is required, please contact Immigration New Zealand on 0508 558 855. We need this information before an appointment can be confirmed.

Additional Information
We can also refer patients for specialist appointments as required by immigration. Referrals can be arranged for specialists in New Plymouth or outside the region.
Important Information about your Appointment
Medicals are not completed the same day the appointment is booked.
You MUST bring your passport with you to the appointment.
General medicals are completed over two separate appointments.
You may be required to provide a urine sample at the appointment.
Chest X-rays are completed at Taranaki Radiology. You will receive a form from us during your appointment, which you must take to have the X-ray done. There is a fee at Taranaki Radiology for this service.
Bloods are completed at Awanui Labs. You will receive a form from us during your appointment, which you must take to the lab. there is a fee at the lab for this service.
